EEC Trends brings together business leaders, public administration officials, politicians, academics and experts. It is one day of intensive discussions about the developments that are changing the conditions in which companies operate, influencing investment decisions and shaping the future of the Polish and European economies.
This year’s debate will open with the question of Poland’s future development model. Its success so far, built on foreign capital inflows, competitive costs and integration with European industry, among other things, does not guarantee that the pace of growth will be sustained. Where should we look for new advantages? How can we build our own technologies, strong brands and companies able to compete on global markets? How can we seize the opportunities arising from the restructuring of the European economy?
The EEC Trends 2027 programme will cover three main thematic tracks: New sources of growth, Energy and security, and Technologies, investment, capital.
The discussions will focus on the future of European industry and the development of new sectors, the energy transition, the growing importance of the defence industry, and artificial intelligence and other technologies that are changing business. Participants will also look at major investments, access to capital and the consequences of demographic change. An important theme will be the place of Polish companies in international value chains – not only as suppliers, but also as creators of their own solutions and technologies.
The programme will be complemented by EEC Talks – conversations with distinctive figures from the worlds of business, politics, science and technology that open up new perspectives and raise questions about the future.
EEC Trends is the strategic prologue to the 19th European Economic Congress, to be held on 19–21 April 2027 in Katowice. The conclusions of the January debates will help set the key directions for discussion and will feed into the Congress programme.
As is tradition, the event will be accompanied by the evening WNP Awards gala. The editorial team of the WNP portal honours individuals, companies and institutions whose activities, investments and achievements have a significant impact on the Polish economy and set the direction of its development.
EEC Trends is also a place for networking, sharing experience and building partnerships. We invite you to take part in the discussions that will help define the economic priorities of Poland and Europe for the years ahead.
The event is organised by the PTWP Group, a publisher of online portals and the organiser of leading business conferences and congresses in Poland.
